If you are bringing guests, make certain that they are also available for your wedding date, and that they can get away. This is especially important for parents or people who might be in your wedding party.

If you are dealing with a destination wedding provider in a foreign country, be sure and pay by credit card. Most credit card providers will allow you to chargeback the purchase if you figure out that the company is not going to provide you with the services that you require.

I would NOT recommend that you pay your balance in full to a foreign vendor in the beginning. Only make a deposit on your wedding, so that you will have time corresponding with the company to make absolutely certain that they are what they appear to be.
